I often sit at my local coffee shop looking out the window watching people. Some walk by laughing with their peers while others, usually first year students, stare down at their fresh converse as their feet pull them along to the next unfamiliar environment.

        I cant help but think back to my first year in college. I came in being a wide eyed kid who thought everyone would interact with me. I thought everyone would naturally want to persue a friendship with me. However, that thought was shattered soon after moving into my dorm. 

​

        As I sit here writing this while I subtly "people watch", I wish I could've told my freshman-self something most would think is quite simple; campus engagement can make or break one during their first year!

        That being said, for the rest of my college career I aspire to not only be engaged on campus, but to leave my positive imprint on The University of Cincinnati!
